Born and raised in rural central Illinois,Lauren Noard resides in her hometown with her husband, daughter, two sons, one chocolate lab, and two black cats. A former high school English teacher, she left her teaching career in 2023 to stay at home with her youngest son, which has allowed her more freedom to pursue her passion for writing.
She enjoys writing heartwarming, humorous women's fiction set against small-town and rural landscapes, mostly in the American Midwest. Although she's been writing since she was very young, the novellas in The Prairie Creek Trilogy are her first published works.
When she's not writing or chasing her kids, she enjoys reading (of course), spending time with family, going for walks, and decorating her house for every season and holiday.

I download samples on my Kindle and keep reading on KU or purchase when the story draws me in. This one did and I kept reading until the end. Ms. Noard is a talented writer and storyteller - the scenes moved seamlessly and characters were delicately unfolded and fleshed out. I am a fan of this fellow Illinois writer and look forward to following Joey as she opens her next bakery.
I'd ask for the peanut butter and banana strudel recipe, but it sounds above my baking skills.
